Around The Island Again

This year, the travel vacation had combined the noon festival which was more than night days. Due to the trip abroad Thailand recently, we had planned to travel around island with the Lanyu where I had never been before. First day, as usual, we started from the eastern of Taiwan. However, this time we want to focus more on the Taitung where we had less chance to visit. The first destination was Qingshui Cliff. I had been visited here several times by bicycle, foot, and car, but this time we would go round with canoe to enjoy the different view from the ocean. This was the long-distance trip from Taoyuan to Hualien, so we had taken the break and eaten the lunch in Suao Township and arrived at the Qingshui Cliff in the 15:00 on time.Fortunately, because there was not the summer vacation, the participants were much fewer than we had expected.

Our coach had instructed the standard steps of getting on and off the canoe. Although, it was cloudy day, the temperature was suitable for enjoying floating on the ocean more than an hour. In the beginning, I exactly feel that it was difficult to control the canoe overcome the wave on the ocean. However, after several minutes, I got used to be along with wave and the canoe won’t overturn easily. Meanwhile, the coach suggested that we could do something more because it was obviously safety with the rescue clothing. Thus, we jumped into the ocean and enjoy the moment of swimming and seeing magnificent view of Qingshui Cliff. When the time closed to the end, it begun raining, and we had the misery process of going ashore. Generally speaking, it was an unforgettable experience not only for the Qingshui Cliff but also the canoe. This evening was the only period we would stay in the Hualien, so we went to the new opened department store and night market far from downtown. There were nothing special, and we would set off to the Taitung city in the morning of the second day.

The second day was the long distance trip from Hualien to Taitung. There are two major roads, one is located in the rift valley, and another is along the coastal. This time we had chosen the sea line, visit sorts of points in the process casually. However, in the lunch, we had gone back to the rift valley where bigger towns located. Unfortunately, it had started raining in the afternoon, so we won’t stay too many points in the remaining process. This night would be the only period we stayed in the Taitung this trip, but we merely hung out in the downtown including the department store and bookstore. Meanwhile, we had checked the location of the airport where we would departure tomorrow. The next three days, we would visit Lanyu where we hadn’t been previously. It was so lucky that we had gotten the airline ticket rather than taking the ship for over two hours.

The third day, we got up earlier and taken the airline in the morning. We had arrived at Lanyu, but it was the heavily rain. We exactly didn’t want to stay in the B&B, so we rode the motorcycle reluctantly around the island. We went along the northern coast line where lots of weird rocks located. The weather was fairly unstable in the entire afternoon. Sometimes, we were able to visit some points smoothly, but sometimes we had to hide from the rain in the pavilion. The first day in Lanyu was exhaust due to the unstable weather, but at least we had followed the plan and had the great lunch in another tribe. Fortunately, the weather in second day was much better than first day. We launched the trip around the island and visited each of the points one by one. The main features here are the natural spectacular landscape, not only the weird rocks but also the beach. They won’t be damaged and protected with the favorable status. Although, the sunny day was beneficial to capture the beautiful photos, we had gotten the serious sunburn under the sunshine. Furthermore, we went to only night market in Lanyu at night.

The third day in Lanyu, we merely have a morning time hanging around the island for the eventual chance. The weather was excellent, so we grasped the final chance to visit any memorable viewpoints among the island and captured the pictures completely. We had taken the airplane and arrived in Taitung City smoothly in the afternoon and ended up our trip in Lanyu. We went to take our car and made the simple preparation for setting off continuously. This day, we had to drive along the South-Link Highway and left for the Kenting. This route I was relately familiar with, but I hadn’t visited Kenting by driving car by myself. We had arrived here earlier, so we went to the B&B located in the downtown of Hengchun in advance. The Kenting night market is not far from the downtown of Hengchun. Due to the weekday, the people were much fewer than I expected. My memory with regard to Kenting was still sustain in the last time when was the graduation trip of senior high school. However, this time, we had absolutely the distinct experience.

The next day, we would stay whole day in Kenting and this was the final stage of our entire journey. We had set off from the eastern coast where was obviously fresh for me. The trip via driving the car by myself is such totally different from taking the tour bus. The weather was wonderful and the person in each point was still fairly few. This was the greatest condition for the sightseeing. We had visited several beach, but what pity was that we hadn’t taken any water activities. This day we enjoyed the easy trip which we simply drove car slowly along the entire coast line of the Kenting. In the nightfall, we had taken on the way home. There would be 70 kilometer left, so we went to the Pingtung city for the dinner. We stayed in the downtown and hang out for a while where I had been ten years ago.
