Beijing

Last year, we went to Shanghai for a trip which the weather and environment is similar to Taiwan. However, Beijing, the capital of china includes more culture from the Ming Dynasty to now. Some buildings which were built more than 200 years ago are still exist now a day. For another reason is that they just held the Olympic Games last year. As a result, we decided to go to Beijing for a trip this summer vacation.

It was in the mid of July. The weather was very hot in Taipei so was Beijing. We took airplane to Tianjin first where is near Beijing. There were lots of leased territories in Tianjin after losing some wars, so we can see many different kinds of buildings built by different countries. We won’t stay at Tianjin for a long time. The second morning, we took the high-speed rail to Tianjin. It is also similar to Taiwan’s, but regulations are much stricter. We have to register our ID number before buying the ticket and check our packages before entering the train station. Moreover, their train station is much bigger than Taipei main station which is also including many kinds of railway at the one place.



And then, we arrived at Beijing. Though, it is near Tianjin, the traffic and environment is not as same as Tianjin. The building is not taller than Tianjin’s and fewer people riding bicycles on the road. Without a doubt, some of their policies and strategies are better than ours. They use electric power instead of petroleum in many vehicles, such as bus and motors. Then, their bikeway is very practical due to forbidding parking on the big road. Thus, the bike can be without any distributions on the bike way. The main goal for this trip is to look some cultures in Beijing. The most important of all is the Forbidden City the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Nonetheless, it is too big that we cannot visit all of it just for hours. In fact, many cultural or historical relics were taken to museum. And then we also visit other place, like summer palace, mausoleum, or temple of heaven. All of them were built in the Ming Dynasty or the Qing Dynasty. On the other hands, the Beijing Nation Stadium, namely Bird’s Net, with other new buildings of Olympics game last year was also good place to visit. Though, Beijing or Tianjin is not more flourish than Shanghai we have visited last year, the position of culture or politic are hard to be replaced forever.
