Video Game

The recent stay home life made us check what we can do at home again and again. Last several weeks, I had checked the movie, music and books platform on the Internet. However, currently, except for the movie streaming platform, the other would be difficult to be involved in my daily life. Next, I would check the other hobbies related to the computer, such as blogger writing, music composing and 3D drawing. However, above hobbies are too similar to what I have done in work, I decided to decrease the time and effort on all of them. The next big thing on the computer is playing computer game, and I would check what the requirement for me to play them is.

Playing computer game might be the one of two major activities for most of the people. Since we were in the elementary school, the video game has already be part of our life. It provided extensive world and diversified way to enjoy it. In that era, there were two main systems, one was the TV game and other was the portable game. Two of them were much cheaper than the computer, and it could also provide better quality and experience than computer. I had my own PlayStation since fourth grade in elementary school, but some famous games only released on the particular system. I played the racing game much more than fighting game, and I usually didn’t want to play the long journey game which required me to spent time on researching it.

After the junior high school, the computers had been progressive dramatically. More and more people played the computer game instead of playing video game. Most of my classmates were involved in the online games, but I thought it would waste my time so I usually played the NBA Live 2004 instead which only fifty minutes each time. For the next six years, I had extremely focused on that game, I had finished several seasons. In fact, the computer game had been progressive very quickly at that moment. The new version of the computer games were always had the much better quality and performance than the previous one, but fortunately I had not interests on following the latest version of the game.

Nine Free Days at Home

This is the annual golden week with the nine days holidays in the end of June. Regularly, most our colleague would plan go broad on this free time. However, last year, due to the corona virus crisis. Serious in all around the world, all of us could do nothing but planned the domestic travel, such as the eastern of Taiwan or outlying island. Unfortunately, this year, the pandemic have happened in Taiwan too. We can’t go anywhere but stay home. If you don’t want to waste time on watching the series or playing video game, some constructive plans have been made for this valuable period previously.

In the past, I always thought that if I have sufficient free time, I would write the technical blogger, compose the new songs or draw the 3D graphic. All above hobbies existed in my college career, because those activities were suitable and could be done by myself. In fact, nowadays, I don’t think I have to follow the hobbies in the past that I might not make the outstanding breakthrough currently. What I need to do is to make something I haven’t done before, or it might be regretted in the future. By the way, I have spent too much time on utilizing the computer to complete my daily task, so I don’t want the hobbies require the computer operation at all.

Stay Home

Since the Mid-May, the covid-19 pandemic had broken out dramatically in Taiwan. Within less than one week, we had been informed that we were asked for working from home based on the rule the company formulated immediately. I always remembered the day that I had been informed to work from home is the day-off when I hang out in the northern coast line and that was the final time I travel outside my daily life zone. After several days, not only the work day, but also the weekend, we basically stay home apart from purchasing the life necessities. It is really the hard time for us especially for the summer time, which we had planned a vast amount of outdoor activities for the following weeks. For the week days, in the summer, we usually go to swimming, play basketball or play table tennis in the evening. However, due to the covid-19 pandemic, the above playgrounds had been asked for closed completely. The weekend is harder. We can’t go to anywhere but stay home to play something indoor.

Frankly speaking, since second quarter of last year, we have stayed home on the weekend as possible as we can for more two months. In the winter and spring time, I can stay my work studio for the musical instrument practice or creation, such as drum, guitar and piano. However, the summer time, it is really hot to make the overly practice, particular for the drum practice. Although, it is still the major hobbies for me, I would spend too much time unless there will be the clarified target.

Outdoor Activities

This week is our expected annual summer vacation. Thank to the slowed down of epidemic, we can restart to play the outdoor activities smoothly. In fact, we had already stayed home without any interesting activities for at least five months. Just like last several years, in the summer vacation, we had get used to travel on eastern of Taiwan, regardless of bike riding, water activities or mountain climbing. What is different this year was that we had visited Hualien first by the just finished Suhua highway. It provides the efficient and safety way to arrive for Hualien, but the dense tunnel also restrict the scenic view in the entire path. Without the trial breakthrough, this trip we had focused on the Zhongbu Cross-island highway, ranging from Hualien to Puli, which is the substitution way after the interruption of the original way to Guguan which was cross middle of Taiwan. In the pasted several years, I had visited the Taroko, Lishan, and Qingjing, but I had never crossed the entire Zhongbu Cross-island highway.

We had set out from Hualien, in fact, after the Tianxiang the last scenic spot in Taroko, there is nothing special except for the gas station and rest area. The Dayuling is the intersection of Zhongbu Cross-island highway and another feeder road. However, the status of this section is not ideal and enjoyable. Then, after briefly stayed at the Lishan at night, we would go back to Dayuling and arrive for Puli continuous. The key point of this section is the Wuling and Hehuanshan. I had visited here in the childhood, but I don’t have any memory currently. This is also the highest point in Taiwanese pathway system which reached higher than altitude 3000m. The scenic views on the way are definitely different from the low altitude. We had stayed in several spots and enjoyed the mountains. Then, keeping go forward to the Qingjing and Puli where we had been familiar with. In general, in the total process, the driver span is much longer than staying at any spot. However, the experience cross the unpopular is also indispensable which also provide us the clear thought where we could visit next time. Wuling and Hehuanshan might be the great example for worthy visit, but next time we would set out from Puli and focus on the mountain climbing.

Acoustic Requirement

After the COVID-19 pandemic break out, the more time I have taken to stay home. Thus, the more hobbies and activities at home would be built to satisfy this fundamental requirement. Except for the music composition, the movie watching, video game playing, and music listening required the appropriate earphone or speaker employed. Previously, I had merely one speaker and one earphone. Due to the cost and performance balance, I commonly focused more on earphone and cared about the quality more than speaker. I had chosen the recommended earphone made by Koss with the acceptable price. Fortunately, this Koss earphone was able to cover the entire requirement from my daily life, including the music, oral and video application. Afterward, I moved out the dormitory and posses the own space in the suite. I purchased the speaker with the bass strengthen both for music and video. It can perform the better sense of space in music, but the tone in higher frequency would be blurred for particular occasion. Furthermore, it also doesn’t match to the drum which emphasizing both low and high frequency.

Then, we had moved to the bigger house with five floors. The second floor generally applied for the video watching and the fifth floor is the music studio. Both floors require the speaker and earphone. In order to solve this problem, the Koss earphone would be put on the second floor where usage rate is much higher, and the other earphone: SHP2000 would be put on the fifth floor for seldom usage of music practice. However, the Koss had been broken when it was out of the lifespan. Then, I had purchased the HPH-200 replaced the previous Koss earphone. After a period of trial, I decided to exchange the rule between my own two earphones, because I thought the SHP2000 possess the comfortable wear experience and bass strength which is more suitable for the video watching and long time usage. And the HPH-200 possesses the better performance in wider frequency which is great for the musical instrument. Thus, the HPH-200 with the better acoustic performance but worse wearing feeling would replace SHP2000 and employed for the electrical drum and piano playing. Indeed, it performs the considerately quality for the entire frequency. The SHP2000 is also perform very good at the video watching and game playing especially the bass strength, although it would not good enough for the wider drum tone.

Technical Report

Since November last year, I have been busy on the new product development and test the multiple latest additional functions in the next version. In the schedule, the new version would be released on this May and, fortunately, the major functions in the software had been versification and the problems also had been solved. Thus, this month, I can arrange the current progress, think the new plan, and go forward for the next breakthrough. Except for the product development, I also want to make the further improvement for the potential field and make another valuable mission to expand our capabilities.

Thus, for this month, there will be three major tasks for me. The first one is to keep the developmental progress forward, both for the technical solution or the documental process. The second one is to arrange my entire data in the recent two years, including the data in hard disk and on the cloud. Due to the computer out of order previous, I hope I can put all the important files to the cloud, but the backup code and program whose size are too large saved in the computer disk. On the other hand, I hope I could come up with the unprecedented method to manage the data well for current requirement. The third one will be technical guide writing and automation tool app development.

Historical Record

Recently, due to the corona virus , we had more time staying home to see the movies and play the video game instead of traveling outside. Although, the content and view capture in the movie still expand our vision and idea. Furthermore, the football game which is able to show the diversified cultures also inspire me to understand the widen world deeply. The first thing I had acquired was studying the history and traveling to the particular area. Thus, after finishing the detective fiction project I had executed last months, I had enlisted the new historic books which focus on the European history in last ten years. Although, I had read all of them ten years ago, that time I was merely familiar with the topic related to the Second World War and cold war. In the above content, only the Germany, French, UK and Soviet Union played the key role, and development of the other countries commonly surrounded. This time, I won’t only focus on the above counties, but also the Low Countries, Eastern Europe and Balkans.

On the other hand, the trip in the Balkans provided the tremendous resource and experience to understand the cultural issue. Balkans is located between Western and Eastern Europe, which doesn’t only represent the two major powers in the Europe, but also the two utterly religious systems also. In our trip, we had visited the mountains belong to the Alps first, then the area and island along the sea coastline, finally the several significant historical cities in the world. In the last two years, I only travelled the Asian countries both for the sightseeing and business trip. The European and American long journey made us exhausted, but it exactly worth it. In the current situation, all the non-essential travel abroad isn’t allowed. However, it is still a good chance for us to recall and make arrangement for the further developmental planning.

The Target behind The Crisis

The corona virus crisis has broken up since the two months ago. Most of us have modified the plans in daily life including both weekday and weekend. Especially for weekend, we commonly go to the diversified places, such as department stores, bookstores, and other downtown and outskirt area. In the current circumstance, the above activities won’t be appropriate unless the crisis would be released. Since the event broken up, we had planned to do several indoor activities instead. The music related and watch the movies are the initial ones which are the existing hobbies formerly. Furthermore, I had taken more books and video games to kill the holidays for the current situation. In the weekday, we also changed life style at all. In the past, we would do the different sports in each day, consists of jogging, basketball, bicycle riding. And we also go the library, department store and downtown area in the weekday. However, in these two months, there have been merely two things we had done in the evening: jogging and watch the movies.

In order to enhance and shape the ideal body, the regular sport plan has been modified and execute strictly. Six times a week and one hour at least each time is the first target. The long distance jogging is likely able to improve the heart and lung capabilities. And the intermittent training is also another fiercely enhancement. For the first few weeks, we still spend time on increasing the strength gradually and try to seek the potential limit. We hope we can keep adjusting the training sequence to enhance the intensity and efficiency. On the other hand, the moderate weight training will be also put in the schedule to reach the target goal as soon as possible. In the past, there are a vast amount of activities we can do in the daily life, so we would exercise every day. However, the corona virus crisis restricts what we can do every day, and I hope it would become the great opportunities for the visible improvement.

Unplayed Games

The technology always changed rapidly, so what popular in our childhood was sharply different from now on. Therefore, the impression of the memory would be able to represent the unique symbol. After entering the college, because we I had involved in the technical field, the technology researching might become blurred between hobbies and works, I had reduced the percentage of the free time on it. When the time I got the first job, it was still contradiction for me to determine whether or not to involve. I was in the traditional industry which is far from the technology. However, I still want to take related job in the future. I studied courses with regard to the electrical engineering and computer science. On the other hand, though, I had loved to follow the latest products of technology and new trend. But, after the mobile replaced the computer as the major icon, which product attracted me less made me lose the almost all of the enthusiasm for following the trend.

Recently, I had taken the old magazine of the technology and computer from home, which content mainly including the technique and product introduction. When I was reading these contents in regard to technique, I was only a junior high student. I merely can build the website in the friendly developmental software and assembly desktop computer with the diversified parts. Writing the code and develop the program was still the far target that time and I still didn’t have sufficient mathematic knowledge to support the further development. Nowadays, I have much more knowledge from the college and writing the program also become the major works for our daily life. I want to read this content again and I will have complete different ideas right now. On the other hand, the product introduction in that period is highly likely to disappear or not popular afterward, such as the disk, small digital camera, and traditional mobile. Above product would also become the icon of the old days.

In The Childhood

Due to the Corona virus, the recent period after Chinese New Year, the entire society incline to be more cautious. Enormous travel abroad had been cancelled and the crowded people in the downtown had also decreased as well. People avoid go somewhere crowded if unnecessary. Thence, we also require altering the style life in the weekend. We couldn’t go anywhere but stay home, so what we have to do in the future is to come up with various ideas and activities. However, when I recalled and sorted out what I dreamed of in the child which I haven’t fulfilled so far. I had found out the material art might be the first one. For the child who is lack of sufficient resources to recognize the world, simple acquire and be affected by the accessible media like the TV program and movie. The topic famous in our childhood was related to the violence. In the midst of violence, it also is classified as the mechanical and unarmed. The battle robot will be attributed to the mechanical and the material art is for the unarmed. In that period, we obviously want to learn and train how to fight and it is also exactly useful for the daily.

However, after high school, the free time had been deceased dramatically. We don’t have adequate time and energy to think of the extracurricular activities. The entire dreams in the child had been suspended in these periods. Fortunately, during the college life, we had such the freedom time. Most students would make the plan to learn or play the extracurricular activities in the club and group. I had the opportunities again to fulfill the childhood dream. Nonetheless, the highest priority in that moment was the music related skills, such as the guitar, drum and compose. On the other hand, what I chose for the sport was the football, bike riding and swimming. Although, I still had chance to access to the Taekwondo club when the freshmen propaganda and access to the free boxing when I was graduated, there were still without the stronger motivation for me to make the crucial decision. First, I don’t think when I get older the unarmed flight was still the necessary skill in the daily. Accordingly, the training might turn into the mere physical education. Furthermore, the competition of diversified categories of fighting, shows the too much cautious and fewer strengthen than other sports.

Be Independent

In the past over three years, I had tried to decrease the news and information from the secular media. I always think that if the news was the product in the free market, the content would be focused on how to attract the people instead of telling the truth. Indeed, most of our news we had seen every day rarely provide the believable data or the structural material. In recent years, the social media had risen and most of the young people acquire the information only from the social media. Though, this new trend offered the diversified resource and, on the other word, the media won’t only controlled by the particular power entity, the group in the social media had been chosen by the user. Consequently, people only want to subscribe the group or the resource which provided more consistent comment with themselves. They subscribed these resource won’t really want to acquire the truth but saw the content make me happier instead. It is difficult for people to acquire both positive and negative comment on the specific issue or analyze the raw and make the clear judgment by themselves. In fact, there were still several impartial media offering the high quality data and comment for diversified issues. However, the news without the entertaining factors won’t attract the mainstream audience.

Last year, due to the business trip in Southeast Asia and released the new product in the market, I spent more on studying the history and status analysis of these countries. However, the presidential and legislator election had held this month, I had thought I would require to study on the issue recently. Just one year passed, although the government hadn’t made the breakthrough effort on the policy, the international circumstances urge people to make the different thinking. And the entire election also focused the sovereignty rather than economic policy like four years earlier. On the other hand, the legislator election also generate fully entertaining topic because the people like entertainment more.

As Twenty Years Ago

After simplifying the daily life, my major target in the life merely focus on the keeping the exercise habits and English improvement. However, both of them require the long-term progressive which couldn’t acquire the remarkable achievements in the short term. On the other hand, due to several cold waves and rainy weather, I had spent more time at home which made me not to do the outdoor activities. Thus, in order to enhance the joy when I stayed at home, I begun trying to find some special hobbies for me to alter the different style of life. However, add the new hobbies without long term maintenance is impracticable, so I started thinking what was the something I expected in the past but I couldn’t accomplish utterly. To meet this condition, there are two main factors why I hadn’t done in the past. First, the most important of all, was that I didn’t have sufficient money prior to graduate from school. The second one was that I didn’t have enough free time in the evening because there was too much homework and exam had be done or prepared. Although, nowadays, I have much more time and sufficient money, what attracted me in the past might not attract me currently as well. As a result, in these days, I would walk the different way and to find something might leave regret previously.

The game boy and pocket game was exactly attracted me when I was three grade in elementary school. Why I couldn’t possess it because when I was child, I was allowed to choose one of the video game between PlayStation and Game Boy. Due to the bigger size of the screen, the PlayStation had been chosen which brought me the long great memories. Thus, I lost the opportunities to contact the Game boy. In that period, much more famous video game developed on the PlayStation platform, but the key and notable game in Game boy platform was the pocket monster. Though, I still had played this game via the PC platform, the Game boy was still occupied the most regret position in my heart. Fortunately, recently, when I served the internet, I found the revise version of Game boy sold on the e-commence. I grasped this rare chance and purchased the machine smoothly with the great operational status. I also purchased the cassette of blue version pocket monster which I had been familiar with when I was a child. This was the game which would me spent months and months to accomplish completely. Therefore, I won’t think I will be boring with playing this game.

The Weekend in Business Trip

The first day in Da Nang was Friday, and I have to take over the client support tasks from my colleague. We had sent the messages last day which informed me that I was supposed to meet in the lobby this morning. We would take the commute van from hotel to the corporation. It was the very special experience which we had been with surrounded Japanese members for work. It took approximately 20 minutes for the plant and the routine passed through the beautiful beach. We had arrived earlier than the beginning of work time. I followed the instructions every moment including waiting in the lounge and made the simple arrangement. For a while, after the work time, I departed for the manufacturing line and inspected the machine that I would be supposed to support. The factory is so large that I couldn’t remember the direction in the building. There are two servo presses on the line with the problem happened several days ago. Unfortunately, we still couldn’t ensure the root cause of these problems when we were still in the office. Thus, we had made the risky bet that we would modify the machine into two systems, one is the standard type, and another is charge of customized functions. My colleague had finished the modification for one of them last day. Accordingly, this day, in the schedule, we had to modify the second one together and handover the remained tasks.

This was not the first time I work with the foreign members, but this time, in the beginning, we exactly encountered the serious communication problems. Not only the Japanese, the large amount of Vietnamese also in the group to cooperate with. However, three of us had to communicate with two translators and it led to the bad efficiency. What the worse was that due to the manufacturing schedule, the machine couldn’t stop to allow us make the modification. As a result, these works had to push off to the next work day which might make me under the heavier pressure. Our available works had been done, so we left earlier by ourselves. It was the first free time in Da Nang. I had started to make the plan, and then I decided to take the crab car to the nearest beach. The beaches in Southeast Asia are different from Taiwan. It is easy to find the long white beach with the hotels here. Thank to the warm weather, although it was the October, it was still available for people to play in the ocean. In the evening, I walked back to the downtown and ate in the Korean restaurant randomly. Then, my colleague invited me to take a sightseeing boat along the river surrounded with the beautiful hotel and it was also the last day for him in Vietnam. From tomorrow on, there would be no any Taiwanese in Da Nang, so I have to deal with anything by myself.

The Potential Market in Vietnam

This October, our servo press had to be transferred to the Vietnam for participating the manufacturing exhibition. The demo kit for this time was from the Thailand and had been demonstrated over four times in distinct exhibition. I would be able to support this task without too much pressure which would be the utter different situation from the Taipei Automation. Due to the experience of last time in Thailand, I had known the matter with regard to demonstrate the demo kit abroad, especially in the Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, one of the members I had met in Thailand last time, which could be obviously helpful for the smother communication. However, not only the short preparation time for visa application, the schedule of the business trip in Vietnam also continuous change all along prior to departure. The key point was that there were serious happened from the servo press in Da Nang, and our manager assessed whether or not I had to leave for Da Nang to support this tricky issue after the exhibition. Indeed, the schedule of the client and exhibition concerned, the plan had been changed again and again. Eventually, for this business trip, I had to go to Saigon three days for the exhibition and go to the Da Nang nine days for helping solve the problems. This would be the long time trip for me without any Taiwanese support locally.

The first day was mere for moving, but I had met several unexpected problems due to the luggage preparation and traffic jam. Thankfully, the above problems had been solved and I had the good and smooth process for leaving for the Saigon city. I would have the half day hang out the city due to the earlier arrived time. There are no MRT in the Saigon city, so I required taking the grab car if I wanted to go anywhere. With the more experience of business trip in Thailand, I had the comprehensive plan for sign seeing this time. I took the grab car to the downtown where is far from the location of hotel I stayed, and then I went around the famous viewpoints in the city on foot. Saigon is the largest city in Vietnam with lots of big department stores and markets. Meanwhile, enormous European historical building located here due to the French colony in the past. This is the very big city with crowded people, and the traffic problems caused by excessive motorcycles without the efficient public transportation. The first day was finished by visiting the main train station. Then, I went back to the hotel little earlier to prepare the work for setting up the exhibition next day.

Around The Island Again

This year, the travel vacation had combined the noon festival which was more than night days. Due to the trip abroad Thailand recently, we had planned to travel around island with the Lanyu where I had never been before. First day, as usual, we started from the eastern of Taiwan. However, this time we want to focus more on the Taitung where we had less chance to visit. The first destination was Qingshui Cliff. I had been visited here several times by bicycle, foot, and car, but this time we would go round with canoe to enjoy the different view from the ocean. This was the long-distance trip from Taoyuan to Hualien, so we had taken the break and eaten the lunch in Suao Township and arrived at the Qingshui Cliff in the 15:00 on time.Fortunately, because there was not the summer vacation, the participants were much fewer than we had expected.

Our coach had instructed the standard steps of getting on and off the canoe. Although, it was cloudy day, the temperature was suitable for enjoying floating on the ocean more than an hour. In the beginning, I exactly feel that it was difficult to control the canoe overcome the wave on the ocean. However, after several minutes, I got used to be along with wave and the canoe won’t overturn easily. Meanwhile, the coach suggested that we could do something more because it was obviously safety with the rescue clothing. Thus, we jumped into the ocean and enjoy the moment of swimming and seeing magnificent view of Qingshui Cliff. When the time closed to the end, it begun raining, and we had the misery process of going ashore. Generally speaking, it was an unforgettable experience not only for the Qingshui Cliff but also the canoe. This evening was the only period we would stay in the Hualien, so we went to the new opened department store and night market far from downtown. There were nothing special, and we would set off to the Taitung city in the morning of the second day.

Responsible for Automation Expo

After several experiences of exhibition participation, though I have lost the fresh feeling, the demonstration product is still much meaningful for me. It is the first equipment whose electrical design and software had been developed by myself. Fortunately, the product development had been launched earlier, especially for the PC software which had also showed in the last exhibition with the different communication version. On the other hand, the servo press itself which is the protagonist of this exhibition had been also started to be developed last year, although it hadn’t passed the formal functional and quality verifications currently. Thus, I want to test some critical function among the preparation of this exhibition, including the external communication which would be applied along the time in the demonstration process. By contrast, the entirely control of the machine had been launched merely three months ago. In the beginning, my daily work focused on the electrical design which I had to issue the diagram earlier but I was really good at. I had spent much time on referring the previous design and arrange the structural configuration into what is suitable for this demonstration.

However, the parts had been imported late, so the assembly progress had been delay also. In the schedule, I was supposed to test the demonstrated motion since July, but finally I had taken over the machine on the mere ten days before the exhibition. The main control of the equipment would be written in the PLC which simply consists of the basic program with the few pages in HMI and both of them I had finished last month. Initially, I faced the problem from hardware including the motor and external control module. The motor problem was just a joke because there was a mistake from the assembly. But the problem of external control module I exactly couldn’t find out the root cause, eventually I could do nothing but change the external control module. Next several steps, we conducted more smoothly, I had tried the communication between two machines and run the motion we would show on the exhibition. Another serious problems from the computer which had been installed the PC software to collect the data from servo press and show the chart and report. However, the PC installed the windows 7 lacked a large amount of essential framework library. I had really tried my hard time to install the different sorts of element with the bad quality network.

Like The Summer Vacation

It is closed to the end of the August. However, the former six weeks after I had gotten back to Taiwan, we merely visited the New Taipei City and Hsinchu. We had never been in Eastern of Taiwan and played the water sports at all. Hence, after released the loaded pressure from the preparation of automation exhibition, we began planning the several activities from now on. Due to the golden week in the middle of September, I intended to put some complementary games into the schedule. For that 8-day trip, we were likely to focus on the area in southern of Taiwan. Furthermore, we had to arrive in Hualien on the first day and stay there for only one day. The viewpoints among the path we will be supposed to miss in the process where consists vast amount of the exclusive elements the summer. Hence, recently, I wish I will be able to visit some area in Eastern of Taiwan and be suitable for summer. What I could think of first are all related to the ocean and beach. I hope I could accomplish entire schedule before the weather get colder and live toward winter without the regret.

The first of all, we had planned to go to Ilan and visited Toucheng where we hadn’t been for over a year. There were great beach for surfing and the castle built on the chill for overlooking the whole plain. They are the remarkable points when we were the student, but we were commonly tired out for the schedule along with the musical festival. Here are still famous nowadays and crowded with vast vanities people playing the water and sky sports altogether. Next, the point we wanted to visit was the Dongao. We had found out the hidden beach last time where less contaminated is, but the cold spring where is famous as well we had missed last time. Unfortunately, this time, although we had found out where we wanted and saw lots of adult and child playing in the artificial pool nearby, the bad weather forced us leaving here. Finally, we went to the Suao by the way and recalled the memory from the past year, then finished the dinner and took the little break in Ilan city. 

Focus On Two

More smoothly the work we had done more emptiness we would feel after work. The phased target we had reached, so I had to find out the other goal for the free time. When the time I just began my new job, I thought I would have more free time on the music and animation. That was the truth, but currently, we practically lacked enormous motivation which I acquired easier like what was among the time of school. We had tried to sort out various former works and renew thoroughly, but I still couldn’t get sort of the sense of accomplishment I expected. Thus, I considered that what should I do could help me to sense the consequent clearly. Eventually, I had thought that English speech and sports could exactly express the outcome of the daily life and work in the long run. Although, both of them might not be urgency requirement at the present stage, the life without the progress little by little would make the exceedingly backward in the future. As a result, I started to make the daily schedule and target. I hope it won’t be the routine business what I merely cope.

The English skill had gotten much important when I transfer to the quality assurance department two years ago. I had to join the meeting with the member from different countries. I not only required understanding what they were talking about, but also had to express my opinion for the specific issue in English. At that time, I still didn’t sense what important the communication was. In the daily practice, I simply focused on the reading and listening. Fortunately, the talking won’t make the over obstacle when I was doing my job, though I thought I was still supposed to spend time on practicing more ordinarily. After joining the new corporation and department, my major daily work had changed into the product development, so there were much fewer opportunities for me to utilize the English skill of conservation among the work. However, after above period, I was tired of lacking such the sufficient opportunities, so I asked for the chances to present or participate in English in the daily life. Recently, I had begun participating the foreign exhibition and making the formal presentation toward the other branch which enforced me improve remarkably. Frankly speaking, both presentation and English speech skill are without the limitation. I am supposed to keep practicing speaking more though there won’t be the related chances specifically.

No Regret in Summer Vacation

It is close to the end of the July, half of the summer vacation. This time is different from the last year because the travel vacation of the corporation had been moved from June to the September. On the other word, last year, our summer vacation had been begun from the four days trip, but this year the trip would be on the end of the summer. Although, there were more times of intensive travel abroad these two years, the trip in Taiwan won’t be once a season like plan we had followed previously. Furthermore, prior to graduate from the school, most of the outdoor activities would be plan in summer as well, including riding bicycle, surfing, marathon and Triathlon. Even though, we still have sufficient power to play above leisure activities, the life left the group currently might damage the motivation to reach the achievement far from the daily life.

Thus, I started to consider what the meaning and importance of each trip I had participated ever. For the outdoor activities in the young age, it might be the proof of our physical capability. We had to be under the deep training and practice before each of the distinctive challenges. Moreover, without the appropriate transport vehicle, the bike riding would be the best choice for us to explore the further world in the early age. Different challenges correspond to the particular view and reward. I had seen and felt the completely different achievement from the bike riding, mountain climbing and the some sort of the activities on the ocean.

The Manufacturing Exhibition in Thailand

The first day of exhibition, I attempted to get up much earlier, because I would have to commute in this unfamiliar city. Due to absence of preparation yesterday, I still had to install the pressing module and set up the video on the platform. Fortunately, I had merely spent 20 minutes on commuting to the exhibition center, so I arrived at the center earlier more than 15 minutes prior to the beginning. There was no any member I had met before, so when I arrived at our booth I require to greet the colleagues of our corporation. And then, I tried my best to make the remained preparation and completed in the ten minutes. The type of our entirely expression was not too far from what we had done in Taiwan. There were two major parts, one was the key components and another was the dynamic equipments demonstrating during the exhibition. This time, there were three dynamic equipments which including our servo press. However, the other two equipments had faced the serious problems when they attempted to operate. Thus, their team had kept adjusting the code and parameter.

Generally speaking, the environment and type of exhibition was very similar, but the scale was much bigger than what had done in Taiwan. Thailand have been the great industrial country in ASEAN and located in the center of Indochina. Thus, the related-industry exhibitions are able to attract the nearby countries to participate and visit. Due to the dynamic equipment we had showed, more visitor could be attracted to go closer for taking the deeper inspect. For diverse culture, I generally introduced our product in English so as to communicate with our colleague. We had been familiar with each other in short time, and I had accepted a vast amount of assistance.

The First Day in Bangkok

It was merely four days left when I received the mission which was the business trip for manufacturing exhibition in Bangkok. Although, there were not exactly the sufficient time to make the well preparation, I still had the great deal of expectation for this trip because it would be the first time I would be able to introduce and promote our developed product in the foreign exhibition personally. Last exhibition I had participated was the automation exhibition in Taipei, I had a formal presentation for introducing our new technical features and functions of our product, but in the following period there were fewer opportunities to stand on the front line to face the client and market. Fortunately, in the Bangkok, we had the complete branch where could provide the utterly support for the period when I stay in Thailand.

The next few days, I tried my best to study and receive any information about Bangkok via books and Internet. In the trip, I would have one free day and I have to responsible for my own transportation everyday in the downtown. Thus, I had to understand the fundamental profile of this city. In the beginning, the colleague in Thailand helped me to arrange the airport transportation and hotel. On the other word, I could arrive at the hotel where I would stay each day in the trip. The distance between hotel and exhibition center is suitable for the taxi. Unfortunately, there is no MRT station near the hotel that I could walk to, so I began to seek something special near the hotel. I had found the shopping center and night market where I could go after work in the evening. Truly speaking, it is impossible for me to go only one place in the whole six days trip.

Acceptable Ready

After exhausted process of seeking the appreciate house for living, the next stage, the house renovation, would be much greater tasks which would take the entire three months. In the beginning, as usual, we exactly wanted to put our whole ideas into our new house which including the wood, mud working or even corporate with the professional designer. However, after the requirement evaluation, we had found out that our current demands couldn’t support the completely renovation. Thus, I had made the decision that all of the following renovations would be carried out by ourselves as possible as we can. Afterward, we had analyzed and listed the bigger items, such as the bath and kitchen renovation, the light installment, painting, paving the wooden floor and purchase the home appliances.

First of all, the renovation of the bathroom and kitchen was what impossible for us to be finished by ourselves. Furthermore, it was also the largest engineering tasks on our list which would make the enormous effects and take the longer time. Therefore, this works had been put in the beginning and we could make another preparation for other tasks. Thank to the set had been planned well; we only had to choose the specific colors and types of the material required to be used in the renovation after the study the basic knowledge in this domain. Unfortunately, what the more disturbed things was that the lots of dusts would be generated in the process which made us not to execute several items prior to what it had been done.

Finding New Area

In fact, we have been lived in the Taoyuan city for over four years. The first two years I had lived in Neili and the next two years I had moved and lived in Lunggang. Two of them had their own characteristics and show absolutely distinguish aspects of the environment and social atmosphere. Although, more convenient the Neili is where including the completely transportation system, the slower and leisurely in Lunggang might more attract me. Furthermore, there is the much better library here which was the major reason why I had moved to here two years ago. After going the last two years, we had exactly got used to live here. However, for last several years, what made me not to determine live here was the location of my own uncertain workplace. In my plan, I required to change the better job after the end of the three-year contract. Fortunately, I eventually found the work in the same industrial zone as well, so I could live in the same place continuously. After the one year of adaptation period, I have made the decision to stay here and find the new house.

In the last year, we had rent the apartment which is not too far from where we had lived in Taipei. However, due to the quiet environmental requirement, I gradually was not able to endure the noise from the other floor. On the other hand, the smaller space in the apartment is also not sufficient for our demand. Thus, since the last year, I had started to seek the appropriate townhouse for renting. Unfortunately, the affordable items for us won’t satisfy our expectation. We had no any progress in the next half year until we want to buy the house.

Smooth Breakthrough

This week is absolutely the refresh stage not only for the work but also for the daily life. Due to the good news acquired on the Monday, we eventually can let the pressure down and arrange the new plan for next phase. After completing the learning schedule of Flash, Premiere and Inventor, what I only need to do for next two months are the preparation for trip and finished the animation works. For the work, I have also entered the new stage, which I am able to focus on specific issue at least. So far, there are the three major projects in my hand. Except settling the annoying lower data transfer problems, another perplexed issue was the communication between the driver and human machine interface.

Unfortunately, this problem have existed for more than three months. In the beginning, the hardware structure including the HMI, PLC, and driver. For the above framework, the critical communication is between the PLC and driver. It offer the RS-485 protocol for further application, but there are no easy-use functions to make the connection directly. We have to define and build the entire data to connect smoothly. Furthermore, the standard connector employed make us require making it for ourselves. If there are any mistakes in the building process, we will not know what happened exactly. However, when the project have reached to the third quarter of the entire process, we found that the PLC is the replaceable element in the system. Thus, the PLC had removed out and what we had to do next is to connect the HMI and driver directly. However, not like the PLC, the delta HMI already have the connecting function between each element of Delta at least. Although, we still had encounter several problems during the building the structure, the critical points had been solved by discussing with the developed department of HMI.

Return and Go Home

General speaking, the progress of the three major projects have been breakthrough in this week. The first one is the most long time on-going project, which has carried out more than ten months: the software of the servo press. It would applied in collecting the data from sensor in machine and make the further analysis for exporting the report. However, the fundamental functions had been developed prior to the automation in Taipei this year, the additional application still have been demanded for gaining competitive. Recently, the issue of over slowly data transferring and recording have been discussed and required to make the clearly improvement. Due to the transfer speed rate limitation of the Modbus protocol, we are not able to solve the problems merely revise the code slightly. Thus, we attempt to seek the broadly application such as building buffer and read the batch of data once a time.

Fortunately, the batch read in Modbus is not the rare application. We have found out the available library soon after, although it only support for the 16 bits and acquire the data from 100 register at one time. Above problems will not be difficult to be solved by building the proper program. We can read more times to settle the limitation of acquiring data and combine the two 16 bits into the 32bits data. Nonetheless, the coming function might be much more challenging. We have to read the batch data according to the command in PLC. The PLC would save the data in two main buffer regions. Thus, when the PLC is saving data in one region, our program is necessary to acquire the batch data from another in the short time. Afterward, the batch data is supposed to be combined and sort into something seems like transferred one by one. Finally, I have built the complete class to carry all of above process. The key point in this function would be the switch the reading buffer and sort out the large amount of data without messing up.

Live in Seclusion for New Works

Since the middle of August, I had carried out the extra arrangement and recomposed the previous musical works thoroughly. Indeed, due to the period of new life adaptation, I had removed almost entire unnecessary hobbies in my daily life. However, in order to make the perfect ending of the current staged mission, I started to sort out the works which I hope I could share to the others for proving the effort I had put in. Thus, when I had some progress in dealing with the previous music, I found out the other works in different media as well, such as image and video. The only motivation could urge me to make the attempt might be the great issue I would be interested in. Currently, what I exactly want to do is to try to create the FLASH animation which I hadn’t tried before. 

This time the FLASH work is not independent, instead, it depends upon the music I had composed last year. In the previous experience, I often film the simple video for specific songs. Unfortunately, after graduating from the school, I had lost the sufficient opportunities to gather the actor and worker. As a result, what I could only do is to make the entire video by myself. In fact, there are several types of producing the animation such as the 3D model by 3DsMax or the 2D video by Flash. Considering the limitation of the time I possess, I am only able to choose the Flash if I want to complete the whole task in the following half year.

Music Created Collection

Truly speaking, my hobbies had commonly been transformed for different phase in my wholly life. Undoubtedly, except for the several hobbies had been built since I was child, the music certainly the major extracurricular activity in the six years. However, due to the inadequate resources including instruments and performing space, I could simply do something related to the music on the edge. I am merely able to take the musical instrument and play the old songs in the lazily free time, but the amount of music creations had sharply fall after I left the school. Only when I have the stronger feelings could make me power to rise the idea of composing music. Nevertheless, the specific time when I heard of the music would make me recall the past time and I would be going to listen to my old works immediately. What I felt strongest was that I had completely distinct style, skill and expression in the different period of my career. I thought this time would be the greatest opportunities to arrange and gather them thoroughly.

First of all, I reexamine entire works I had composed and choose which one is suppose to be collected in this project. The key standard for chosen is not only the music itself but also the meaningful value for particular moment. Moreover, I wish I could choose the diversified styles and the stories relevant to multiple issues. However, when I finished this toughest initial works, I found out the degree of completion for individual music has the big difference between each other. Thus, I have to classify all of them for the forward planning. Some required the entirely rework, but some only need to make the subtle adjustment. In the current situation, the record the singing might be the bigger challenge so far, so I have ensured the tune for each song and export into the basic version with the previous record. The next stage I totally have to do in my schedule is to record the singing as possible I can and push the process patiently and continuously. 

Motion Technique

After the end of the automation exhibition, our first task in the top half quarter had been nearly completely. If we attempt to summarize the works had done in this period, we are likely to conclude that there were two major missions so far. First one was the software development for the machine and another one was the control code writing on the second platform of the servo driver. Although, there were merely two major missions supposed to be accomplished, there had been still along with relatively technical issues involved. On the other hand, in the summer, when I could take the mostly control on my developmental works, the toughest tasks were transferred from technique to the marketing and speech on the automation exhibition which I had focused on in the last month.

The first major works in the half quarter was the software development which was supposed to be released with our machine. The key technique in this software is the communication with machine in order to acquire the live data and make the widely remote control. Fortunately, the useful function library had been provided completely so I could construct the structure and built the function smoothly. What I extremely concerned was likely to be the issue for improving the user experience and mature user manipulation. However, due to the fixed date of machine launched and released, the software also doesn’t have any flexible extensive span for development. In the last phase, some of the critical and competitive function required to be put in such as SQL Server and statics export. Above applications are common but I didn’t have the related chances to make the deeply study. By constructing the whole software, I could exhaustive examine where I should improve and gain skillful abilities.

Automation Exhibition Seminar

Truly speaking, the most of our skillful abilities had made the remarkable improvement after entering the society and acquiring job. However, for the research and development work, a great majority of tasks simply be asked for finished inside the corporation or even completed in the own department. Gradually, we had lost the chance of communication and presentation in the formal stage. The only opportunities we were likely to be involved were the technical reports inside the division which we were still in the familiar situation and colleagues. It was unnecessary to present under the high pressure and be asked for the strictly demand. However, due to the upcoming automation exhibition, our product of our department exhibited this time required the appreciate product presentation for latest released in the market. I will have to substitute for the original product manager who had to be on a business trip for a month prior to the exhibition. I think it would be the great chance of training not also for improving presentation skill but also enhancing market concept.

In the school time, I believe I had more opportunities than the others studied in the college of engineering. I had joined the music clubs which usually had to perform in the middle and end of the semester. Thus, we had the more opportunities to show our self in front of the unfamiliar audiences on the stage. In the last semester of being student, I thought I had totally overcome the nerves when I was a freshman and perform what I was expert in comfortably. Unfortunately, I had found out I couldn’t connect the work presentation and music performance closely. I had really wanted to find out the reason why it always caused the several problems. When I deeply investigated and compared two of them, I found that the music performance was created from me, but the work presentation might stand for another team or the specific technical which is liable to be challenged not only the team member but also the audience. Consequently, first of all, what I have to do is to understand the topic so much deeply and it could make me gain more confidence.

Next Four Days

The first day, as the plan we expected, we stayed more time in the village or bench on the Suhui highway. Although, there was only three major villages on the path, the incontinent traffic transportation make us have few chances for visiting. Most viewpoints located here are absolutely different from what is in the city where less pollution has. Generally, we had mainly visited the beach and hillside which were able to leave the crowd. The second section of the Suhui highway we are more familiar with because we had been here from the Hualien last time. By the way, the Suhua Highway Improvement Project had finished the first section. The much straight paths offer the safer driving environment.

In the First day, we fortunately had controlled the schedule accurately and smoothly arrived at the downtown of Hualien on time. However, the long trip with concentrated driving and climbing mountain tired in the process had made us exhausted eventually. We won’t go to the night market as usual but simply hang around the downtown stead. In the second day schedule, different from the first day, our trip merely focused on Taroko National Park where are regularly crowded causing the terrible quality. Nevertheless, unfortunately, the delay breakfast delivery affected the plan slightly. We drove to the Tpedu which is the farthest viewpoint from the entrance in Taroko National Park. Then, we had finished the major astonishing trail and went back slowly following the same road. The schedule in the second day was much pure and had much shorter distance for driving. Thus, we were able to go back to the feast earlier with the enjoyable pace.
