Acoustic Requirement

After the COVID-19 pandemic break out, the more time I have taken to stay home. Thus, the more hobbies and activities at home would be built to satisfy this fundamental requirement. Except for the music composition, the movie watching, video game playing, and music listening required the appropriate earphone or speaker employed. Previously, I had merely one speaker and one earphone. Due to the cost and performance balance, I commonly focused more on earphone and cared about the quality more than speaker. I had chosen the recommended earphone made by Koss with the acceptable price. Fortunately, this Koss earphone was able to cover the entire requirement from my daily life, including the music, oral and video application. Afterward, I moved out the dormitory and posses the own space in the suite. I purchased the speaker with the bass strengthen both for music and video. It can perform the better sense of space in music, but the tone in higher frequency would be blurred for particular occasion. Furthermore, it also doesn’t match to the drum which emphasizing both low and high frequency.

Then, we had moved to the bigger house with five floors. The second floor generally applied for the video watching and the fifth floor is the music studio. Both floors require the speaker and earphone. In order to solve this problem, the Koss earphone would be put on the second floor where usage rate is much higher, and the other earphone: SHP2000 would be put on the fifth floor for seldom usage of music practice. However, the Koss had been broken when it was out of the lifespan. Then, I had purchased the HPH-200 replaced the previous Koss earphone. After a period of trial, I decided to exchange the rule between my own two earphones, because I thought the SHP2000 possess the comfortable wear experience and bass strength which is more suitable for the video watching and long time usage. And the HPH-200 possesses the better performance in wider frequency which is great for the musical instrument. Thus, the HPH-200 with the better acoustic performance but worse wearing feeling would replace SHP2000 and employed for the electrical drum and piano playing. Indeed, it performs the considerately quality for the entire frequency. The SHP2000 is also perform very good at the video watching and game playing especially the bass strength, although it would not good enough for the wider drum tone.

Afterward, I began focus more on the speaker due to the additional requirements. The most important one was because I had purchase the projector. When I enjoyed the big screen and high quality like the movie theater at home, we would also expect the sound could perform at the same level like the movie theater. Fortunately, my old Z932 which purchased when I was graduated student is able to achieve this target. I am satisfied for its performance both for movie watching and music listening. However, there are two major shortcomings when I made use of this system. The first one is that it is not convenient for the movement. Recently, we had spent more time on PlayStation at the fifth floor, so we had to move the three piece systematic speaker to different floor. Such kinds of requirement increase dramatically, it made us exhausted. And another one is that it emphases over on the bass frequency, although it provide the simple EQ adjustment for the user. It still not performs well at oral and specific musical instrument playing.

Due to the above factor, I started seeing the appropriate speaker to meet above requirement. In fact, previously, I usually notice more on the total sound system which one including the CD player, amplifier and speaker. However, nowadays, the MP3 player and mobile replace the CD player and the active speaker replaced the passive speaker made the amplifier alone is not essential at all. For the handy factor, the two or three piece system was also not proper for the current condition. Finally, I had chosen the small and one piece speaker with the acceptable acoustic quality especially for the oral. Truly speaker, it is very hard to find out the greatest speaker in the world which can meet all expectancy. And the other point is that each characteristic of the speaker have the completely different value for each person due to the tastes preference. Only when you put the speaker in the right place for the trail with entire condition can understand more about whether its performance could satisfy the imagine. However, it is also bottomless hole, when you acquire the acceptable one you might seek the higher level again and again.
