Automation Exhibition Seminar

Truly speaking, the most of our skillful abilities had made the remarkable improvement after entering the society and acquiring job. However, for the research and development work, a great majority of tasks simply be asked for finished inside the corporation or even completed in the own department. Gradually, we had lost the chance of communication and presentation in the formal stage. The only opportunities we were likely to be involved were the technical reports inside the division which we were still in the familiar situation and colleagues. It was unnecessary to present under the high pressure and be asked for the strictly demand. However, due to the upcoming automation exhibition, our product of our department exhibited this time required the appreciate product presentation for latest released in the market. I will have to substitute for the original product manager who had to be on a business trip for a month prior to the exhibition. I think it would be the great chance of training not also for improving presentation skill but also enhancing market concept.

In the school time, I believe I had more opportunities than the others studied in the college of engineering. I had joined the music clubs which usually had to perform in the middle and end of the semester. Thus, we had the more opportunities to show our self in front of the unfamiliar audiences on the stage. In the last semester of being student, I thought I had totally overcome the nerves when I was a freshman and perform what I was expert in comfortably. Unfortunately, I had found out I couldn’t connect the work presentation and music performance closely. I had really wanted to find out the reason why it always caused the several problems. When I deeply investigated and compared two of them, I found that the music performance was created from me, but the work presentation might stand for another team or the specific technical which is liable to be challenged not only the team member but also the audience. Consequently, first of all, what I have to do is to understand the topic so much deeply and it could make me gain more confidence.

In order to overcome the lack of confident, first of all I had to do is try to familiar with the entire content of presentation. Only when I think the whole arguments come from my deep mind that would be able to present them naturally and confidently. Therefore, in the first week, I spent approximately half and hours after get off the work time. I had practiced two times one night, one was for English and another was for Chinese. The core spirit of this method was to enhance the difficulty of presentation and decrease the speed of thinking. Moreover, I could also practice the pronouncement and presentation in English. After several days, I gradually seized the outline of the presentation and I changed the method and situation as possible as I could to stimulate the confident. In the second week, I began to use the work time for more practice. Though, I had to find the appropriate area for training so as not to interfere with the colleagues, I had acquired much more time to make the practice. Go though last two weeks, I believed I could grasp the content and express more confident when I was on the stage. However, the next important and further issue for current situation was likely to build my own style and operated with the official presentation naturally.

The last official rehearsal inside the corporation invited the higher manager and colleague from other department as the audience. The entire process was identical to the formal presentation. Although, I still felt nerves, I had been familiar with the whole content which made me express more confident. Thus, after the subtle unstable control in the beginning, I was able to hold the tempo following the practice previously. I would know what I will be supposed to talk about in time which prevented from being nervous on the stage. Fortunately, many colleagues had told me I had much better performance than last time, although I still thought there was something imperfect. However, this experience had made the remarkable change. Much more confident I gained that provided the motivation for further progress. I still spent time keeping on practice to be more familiar with the content. Furthermore, I attempted to make the subtle adjustment of the gesture and style.

On the formal presentation day, I really felt less nervous than pervious. There was the last chance for rehearsal on site. We could feel the environmental atmosphere, but there were no any audience under the stage. In the past, the presentation without the audience was the gigantic challenge for me. However, this time, I won’t feel any difficulties when I made the last rehearsal. In the afternoon, the official presentation began, as usual, I had felt little nervous in the beginning, but the much eyes of audience under stage made me feel better which just like the musical performance. This was extremely enjoyable period for this well-preparation presentation and I completed perfectly in the final.

This was the very great experience for me to make such large-scale presentation. Following the effortful practice and detailed train, I had acquired the distinct viewpoints toward the official presentation of product and technical introduction. I believe, after this process, I won’t be afraid of this kind of presentation anymore; at least I will have the forward direction from this precise experience.
