We Still Believe

Each hobby has their time-limit. Some of them are just tried in some of our particular period. The club would be the best example for it. Lots of people wouldn’t persist of their hobby of club when they had graduated, even when we were in the upper grade. Some of my hobby might be the good example also, such as I haven’t put too much emphasis on writing program when I had graduated from senior high school. However, I think the music wouldn’t be another example, even though I had ever thought I would give up in the past.

I think I didn’t have enough groundwork when I had started to tried it. When I was a freshman, I hadn’t played the piano for a long time. I had learned guitar a little. There were not too many ideas when I joined the digital music club or guitar club. Being good at design might be the most important reason which made me confidence. Nevertheless, I spent lots of time on practicing these musical instruments in the beginning. First, I had to be familiar with piano which I had learned when I was a child. And then, learning the guitar well could make me compose pop music quickly. Finally, I began to learn drum because I wanted to learn more musical style thorough. By the way, the drummer is the most important in a band in my mind, so I took this position. However, these would be only the skill of each musical instrument. How to compose was still a big mission. Few books are talking about it, but I don’t know why. As a result, we had to listen to lots of music and analyzed other score. The only thing we could do was to imitate their works. Of course, it was impossible that our works would be as good as theirs.




I have lots of time this semester, due to few classes. Though I have composed some songs, they didn’t reach my standard certainly. In order to dominate each musical instrument well, practice more might be the best method we can do nowadays. Instead of composing good digital music, I want to compose the whole band works also. Thus, I have to spend more time on analyzing each track of each song. On the other, researching more songs and practicing more would be the most important works this semester.

The final goal might still be far away from me, but how to admire music and understand them are the biggest gains these years. Because we want to learn how to compose songs, we would put more emphasis on composing. Them some value of songs would be discovered. From pop music, heavy metal to classical music, each style has their value if you could understand their method of composing. I don’t know what kinds of music I could do in the future. Certainly, I won’t give up music when I graduate from the collage.
